Steps to Buying a Home in Oregon

1. Find the Right Realtor
The first step in your home-buying journey is partnering with a knowledgeable realtor. As your dedicated realtor, I’ll guide you through every step, from finding the perfect property to negotiating the best deal and ensuring a smooth closing process.

2. Get Pre-Approved for a Mortgage
Before you start house hunting, it’s crucial to get pre-approved for a mortgage. This step helps you understand your budget and shows sellers that you’re serious and financially ready to make an offer. I can recommend trusted local lenders who will guide you through the pre-approval process.

3. Identify Your Must-Haves
Make a list of your non-negotiables—location, number of bedrooms, type of neighborhood, outdoor space, etc. We'll use this list to narrow down options and focus on homes that fit your lifestyle and budget.

4. Start Your Home Search
Now the fun part begins! Using my access to the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and off-market properties, I’ll help you find homes that match your criteria. We’ll tour properties and discuss what each home has to offer.

5. Make an Offer
Once you find the right home, we’ll craft a competitive offer based on market conditions and the home’s value. I’ll negotiate on your behalf to ensure you get the best deal while keeping your goals in mind.

6. Conduct Inspections
After your offer is accepted, the next step is conducting a professional home inspection. This helps ensure there are no hidden issues with the home. If the inspection reveals any concerns, I’ll help you negotiate repairs or credits with the seller.

7. Appraisal and Financing
Your lender will arrange for an appraisal to confirm the home’s value aligns with your offer price. This is an essential step in securing your mortgage. I’ll stay in close contact with your lender to ensure everything stays on track.

8. Final Walk-Through
Before closing, we’ll do a final walk-through of the home to ensure any agreed-upon repairs are completed and the property is in the expected condition.

9. Close on the Home
At closing, you’ll sign the necessary paperwork to transfer ownership. As your realtor, I’ll be there to make sure everything runs smoothly. Once the documents are signed and the funds are transferred, the keys to your new home are yours!
